African Mahogany
African Mahogany has a good natural luster with a light-refracting optical phenomenon known as chatoyancy. As well that is comprised of a handful of species from the Khaya genus, all of which are native to Africa. In contrast to other Mahogany, this one tends to be less reddish brown color.

Color, Pattern, Texture: African Mahogany’s color varies, from a very pale pink to a deeper reddish brown; sometime with streaks of medium to dark reddish brown. As color tends to darken with age, the grain of African Mahogany is straight to interlock, with a medium coarse texture. It has a beautiful natural luster with a light-reflecting optical known as chatoyancy.
Common Uses and Applications: Interior and exterior projects; such as furniture, boatbuilding, millwork, veneer and turnings
